foundation training in spokane, wa

Strength isn’t just about building muscle—it’s about improving the body’s ability to move and perform in real-life situations.

Whether you’re an office worker, an athlete, or someone simply looking to live a pain-free life, Foundation Training can help you develop the foundational strength that supports every action you take.

what is foundation training?

Foundation Training is a movement system designed to restore functional strength by using specific exercises that target the muscles responsible for maintaining proper posture, alignment, and movement.

By retraining the body to move efficiently, Foundation Training helps correct misalignments, improve flexibility, and prevent pain caused by poor posture or repetitive motion.

Most of us spend the day moving in ways that aren’t ideal for our bodies. From hunching over desks to sitting for long periods, our posture and movement patterns often lead to strain, discomfort, and injury. Foundation training combats this by focusing on lengthening the body and restoring proper movement patterns. By working on core strength, alignment, and flexibility, you can reduce pain and prevent injuries—helping your body move better and feel stronger.

Breathing

It starts with deep, conscious breathing. Focusing on expanding the lungs and lengthening the body helps activate muscles that are often underused. This creates space within the body for better mobility.

After nearly two years of practice, my thoracic area has opened up, and now chiropractors can actually adjust me — it’s amazing.

Cindy J

I’m a retired deputy with 26 years of service. Most of my career was spent on patrol, wearing a bulletproof vest and sitting in a Crown Victoria — a combination that left my thoracic spine locked up tight. Chiropractors struggled to get any movement, and even massage couldn’t release it.

Then Hilary introduced me to Foundation Training. What a difference it’s made. After nearly two years of practice, my thoracic area has opened up, and now chiropractors can actually adjust me — it’s amazing.

Recently, while traveling in Italy, all the walking tightened up my hips, but using different Foundation Training movements kept me mobile and comfortable. This method truly works.
